Thai Yoga Massage (low back & hips)

Learn how to give a 30-45 minute Thai Yoga Massage. Thai massages are done fully clothed on a thick mat on the floor and basically involves the therapist moving the client through a series of lying yoga poses while using muscle compression techniques to improve flexibility and range of motion and to balance the mind and body. This workshop will start with a short yoga class to warm up the muscles and to recognize some of the postures we will use during the massage. After that we will partner up and I will walk you through the steps of giving your partner a Thai Yoga Massage that focuses on loosening the hips, treating low back pain and opening the chest. Of course, after that we will switch partners. Handouts with illustrations and descriptions of what you learned will be provided so you can give your friends and family members a special treat.
Yin Yoga & The Chakras

Explore your chakras first by going through a series of yin yoga poses that help balance each energy center. Yin poses are held longer than usual stretches and target connective tissue called fascia, where we tend to store emotional traumas. Long yin poses can let us sink down into our subtler bodies to get deep releases. As we are holding each pose, we will talk about where each chakra is located, what characteristics (emotions, colours, scents, etc) it’s associated with and what cues our body might give us to show that chakra is blocked. We will also learn a specific meditation to help open and balance each chakra.
Dry Brush Workshop
$20 if you have your own brush, $35 includes brush -- please let me know if you need a brush
Dry brushing leaves your skin soft and revitalized by getting rid of the top layer of dead skin cells. It can stimulate circulation, help the lymphatic system eliminate toxins, boost your metabolism and help reduce cellulite. In this workshop you will learn the proper techniques to give yourself a full-body dry brush massage. Bring or wear shorts and a tank top / sports bra under your clothes.
